Features

The Stiga Multiclip 47 SQ B self-propelled mulching lawnmower is powered by the Briggs & Stratton 450 E Series OHV 125cc engine and has a robust steel chassis with a powder coated finish and ball bearing wheels for smoother running.

Mulching is the easiest way to cut your grass and the innovative blade and deck design also makes the lawnmower quieter. The Stiga Multiclip system cuts and re-cuts the grass into tiny pieces that simply wilt away, returning valuable nutrients to the soil to encourage beautiful green growth. You don’t need to rake up the clippings or empty a collector, which means you can cut the grass about 30% faster compared to a collecting mower.

A large 45cm cutting deck with a choice of 5 heights of cut ranging from 31-80mm operated by a single lever, ensures an excellent finish for your lawn.

The Multiclip 47 SQ B comes with a 5 year manufacturer's warranty and is suitable for larger sized gardens up to 50m x 50m.

Grass clippings are recycled back into the soil, returning valuable nutrients and saving you time and money!

Stiga mulching mower Review by Henry

I did a bit of research (Google) into mulching mowers and decided this was the way to go for me. I have what I think would be described technically as a medium size garden. It consists mainly of a good size front and back lawn for a 4 bedroom detached house. It produces plenty of grass and I only just manage to get away with one standard UK brown (240 litre) bin which is emptied every 4 weeks.

The mulching mower I ordered arrived seamlessly on the date that I chose in the online ordering process.

It was easy to assemble the handles and lower mounting using the usual sort of star shaped hand tightening knobs. There was a bottle of engine oil included and I carefully added this a bit at a time until it reached the full mark on the dipstick. Added some fuel and that was it.

Until recently, I used a petrol (Briggs and Stratton engine) rotary mower with a grass bag and rear roller (for stripes) from a well known UK maker. It works well enough but even though it's self propelled it is quite heavy to manoeuvre.

By comparison, my new Briggs and Stratton engined Stiga mulching mower feels light and easy to manoeuvre - and it doesn't get heavier with a load of grass on board! Its Briggs and Stratton 450E engine seems quieter and smoother than the last two B & S engined mowers I've had. I ordered the self propelled version so it just seems to burble along going about its business.

Not having a grass bag to empty makes cutting the lawns much quicker. When you think about it too, all those grass clippings must take quite a lot of goodness out of the ground - hence the reason for having to use fertiliser regularly. This is one of the main reasons that I decided to go down the mulching route.

Downsides? Well I guess I'll lose the stripes. But they are pretty ropey and don't last long anyway. I guess too that I'll need to make sure that I don't let the grass grow too long and observe the one third rule. This won't be a hardship as I actually really enjoy using my new mower. Even if the grass does get a bit long, I'll be able to use the side discharge option (and a rake) anyway.

Overall, I'm a very happy bunny and look forward to not having a load of grass to get rid of every month - and much less fertiliser to buy. And I actually enjoy mowing the lawns now as it just doesn't feel like the chore it was.

This is a fab mower that make mowing exciting to do! Review by John the Gardener

I have had lots of different mowers over the bast 11 years in business but this Stiga mower is the best I have had. For all the gardens I maintain weekly it mows them much quicker and in chops the grass so small I dont box it off. Its a quick mower too, whizzing along and is light and easy to use. I felt so strongly of how good this mower is that I just wanted to leave this review. :)
